Welcome to the Kimberly Lab

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability. Encompassing ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage, each type of stroke is characterized by a sudden neurological deficit, followed by a secondary wave of brain injury. In the Kimberly Lab, we seek to identify the underlying causes of secondary brain injury, and to translate these fundamental discoveries into diagnostic tools and new therapies.

Our research focuses on four areas
We seek to reduce the burden of acute brain injury
